We’re always thrilled when we get the opportunity to work with one of our favorite multi-talented wedding planners in Austin. Emily of Bird Dog Wedding has such a great eye for detail, and she had a deep understanding of the overall vibe for Nicole and Alec’s relaxed Austin hotel wedding, which was modern, relaxed, natural, textural, inviting, warm, and a bit of boho. From her initial design boards, we developed stationery that perfectly fit what Nicole and Alec were looking for, and I was so delighted to see how it all turned out!
An Austin Hotel Wedding Venue With Class
One great aspect of this Austin hotel wedding, which took place at the South Congress Hotel, was how open to design the location was. It had a modern, classy look that provided a wonderful canvas to work with. With lush greens, understated elegance, and unique event spaces, it’s easy to see why this beautiful boutique hotel is a popular and sought-after Austin hotel wedding venue.
A Stationery Suite To Match
For their Austin hotel wedding, Nicole and Alec wanted a sophisticated neutral color palette featuring tones with warm whites, the palest pinks, apricot, goldenrod, wheat, pale taupe, and black. They also had a focus on the decor with elevated place settings and glassware, along with comfortable and modern lounge and conversation areas for guests to enjoy.
Nicole and Alec had a clear vision for their Austin hotel wedding and wanted only the best, which matched up perfectly with the stationery designs we were going to create for them. For the stationery suite, we honed in on a modern and minimalist style. Think a focus on bold fonts and well-designed pieces with an attention to typographic detail. To fit with their color scheme, we heavily used black, white, vellum, acrylic, and accents of goldenrod and “dried grass” tones.
Texture was another important element of the design too. To develop the stationery’s texture, we stacked up different-sized cards in layered neutrals, then incorporated translucent vellum.
We carried this theme through the design details by including textural elements in the Day-of stationery and signage. This included vellum menus featuring mini place cards with gold clips, a frosted vellum seating chart, and a special heat-bent acrylic welcome sign accented with tropical botanicals from Mountain Laurel Floral.
A Stationery Suite Specific To You
Sharing real weddings like Nicole & Alec’s is a great way to generate ideas for your big day! I always love coming up with designs based on our couples’ inspiration; it might be my favorite part of the custom stationery process.
I wholeheartedly believe creating your invitations & signage should be a fun, stress-free process that reflects you as a couple. When your wedding day arrives, you can relax knowing every last detail will be special and true-to-you.
If you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to hear from you!
