Sarah & Michael’s Colorful Texas Wedding

When Sarah and Michael reached out to me to help with their Texas wedding, I was downright thrilled. They were referred to me by a wedding planner, and after checking out my Instagram, they fell in love with the colorful work I’ve done with past clients. They said they wanted their wedding colors to center around the magical hues of a Texas sunset, and I couldn’t wait to get started.

We built a color scheme that focused on pastel sunset shades. The combination of the peach, pink and subtle lavender hues made for a truly lovely Texas wedding. I created invitations and save-the-date cards with these colors, which looked gorgeous together.

Sarah and Michael decided to keep things simple so that they could find other opportunities to tie in these colors with decorations! Their stationery is a semi-custom take on our Joyfully Bold invitation suite.

The Happy Couple

Sarah and Michael were just the cutest couple ever, and they couldn’t stop smiling the whole day. Sarah wore a gorgeous princess-style wedding dress, and Michael wore a dapper black tux. They wanted to wear classic colors to allow the Texas sunset shades to compliment them.

The result was stunning. Sarah and Michael were married under a gorgeous archway covered in flowers, which matched Sarah’s bouquet. After the ceremony, guests went to the outdoor tent for the decadent (and colorful) wedding reception dinner.

We continued these colors in the wedding dinner with the centerpieces, linens, signage and more. And I have to say, everyone started smiling when they walked into the reception to see all those bright colors.

A Beautiful Texas Wedding Reception

I loved being able to tie these colors into the wedding reception; it was a lot of fun! People loved the cute lavender welcome sign, and Sarah and Michael picked so many colorful food items that fit the Texas sunset colors. From a peachy cocktail to various colorful cupcakes, the whole reception was full of color.

I also loved that the bridesmaid’s dresses fit in with the rest of the color scheme. They had sweet, lavender dresses that matched the linens to a “T.” Everywhere you looked, there was something happy and bright about this wedding.

And since these colors tied in with the floral arrangements, the entire day felt cohesive and sunny. That, combined with the beautiful light from the venue, made the whole wedding bright and happy. It was gorgeous, and I was so honored to be a part of their special day.

Final Thoughts

One of my favorite things about designing weddings is implementing lots of bright colors that reflect the couple. And Sarah and Michael’s Texas wedding was no exception. I had a wonderful time working with them and was so happy to see how pleased they were with the end result.

Sarah and Michael’s big Texas wedding was a blast, and it was a great time to really play with color. No matter your style or color preferences, making weddings look beautiful is what I’m all about! If you have a wedding coming up, I’d love to hear more.
