A Southern Charm Mackey House Wedding For Emily & Tyler

Put on your sunglasses for this one, friends – This brightly colorful, southern Mackey House wedding has all the elegant charm you’d imagine for a modern Savannah wedding with vivid hues of orange, hot pink and bright tropical green. From invitations to custom translucent acrylic signage, this was a super fun one to create!

How We Started Working Together

The lovely couple reached out to us for their destination wedding through Pinterest. I was happy to hear they were having their wedding in Savannah, Georgia, which holds a special place in my heart. Since it’s my hometown, I felt an instant connection with them.

Pinterest is one of my favorite places to find wedding inspiration (besides Instagram) and create design boards, so it makes sense that Emily found our invites there first!

Beyond that, Emily and Tyler are based in Brooklyn, not far from where I used to live – small world! This is part of what makes working with couples so special, meeting and finding connections with people you might not otherwise have met.

Emily and Tyler were super excited to have their wedding celebration and reception among Savannah’s beautiful historic homes and majestic live oak trees with their signature Spanish moss. In addition to classic Southern elegance, Emily also wanted to have a tropical feel that perfectly blends with Savannah’s beachier side.

After touring numerous locations around Savannah, they decided to have their wedding celebration and reception at the historic Mackey House, surrounded by the majestic live oak trees – a perfect location for a colorful spring destination wedding!

A Little About Our Contributions To This Mackey House Wedding

Emily wanted to bring an element of personalization, uniqueness, and color to her Mackey House wedding. She ordered our Deco invitation design which features a minimalist design paired with a modern sans serif font, but we customized the colors with shades of flamingo pink and peachy coral. The warm, beachy tones paired perfectly with dark viridian green hues, evoking the tropical foliage featured on the big day.

Invitations and signage are a great way to add color, depth, and emotion to your event; I’m always up for brainstorming with you to bring in some fun and unique elements like we did with Emily’s designs.

In addition to the invitation suite, our big contribution to the day was Emily’s custom signage in colorful special-order acrylic. It was in translucent shades of bright orange, bright pink, and dark green.

The signage paired perfectly with Emily’s florals and decor for a truly unexpected, uniquely fun – but still elegant – look for her and Tyler’s Mackey House wedding in Savannah. Plus, we shipped it all from Austin to Savannah – not a task for the faint at heart, and a good reminder to use a professional stationery designer for your signage to make sure every last detail is accounted for.
