Beautiful History Met Modern Styling at This Laguna Gloria Wedding

This gorgeous Laguna Gloria wedding took place on the site of a historic 1916 Italianate-style villa on the shores of Lake Austin in Austin, Texas. Laguna Gloria is located a few miles from downtown and right on beautiful Lake Austin. It is a historic landmark site featuring contemporary outdoor sculptures by renowned international artists. It has a stunning natural landscape, and historic ties to Texas culture. It was the perfect backdrop for Meagan and Randy’s elegant day!

Collaboration Created This Impeccable Aesthetic

Meagan and Randy worked with the legendary Westcott Weddings to plan this exquisite event. They knew that they wanted a simple, modern, typography-focused suite in a range of green shades. This was to coordinate with the stylistic direction of the decor and atmosphere Westcott Weddings was creating for their Laguna Gloria wedding. I was happy to oblige! Wedding Invitations

When I talked to Meagan about the invitations for her Laguna Gloria wedding, we decided to let beautiful lakeside locations influence the color palette. We opted for multiple shades of green. Second, we printed on a warm white cotton paper stock for a natural feel. As a nod to the contemporary style of the Laguna Gloria wedding, we kept the typography modern and minimalist. After, we added a translucent green vellum belly band wrapped vertically around the suite to tie it all together. A round details card was another fun, unique touch!

Wedding Signage

Next, when it came to the signage for the day, we worked with the natural environment to create a cohesive look. I designed a large 4′ seating chart to be suspended from one of the huge, beautiful oak trees on the property, and a fun, modern Order of the Day sign with playful icons calling out the evening’s highlights substituted for more formal printed programs.

Captured so lusciously by Matthew Moore’s incredible photography, this wedding was a masterclass in how to combine historic elegance with a contemporary flair. The floral work Clementine Botanical Art really pulled everything together and complimented the sculptures on the property, and the bride and groom – I mean, look at them. The pictures speak for themselves!
