When it comes to designing invitations, signage, save the dates and more, I always want the stationery we create to reflect the couple. Whether it’s chic and timeless or rustic and romantic, what you see on paper should give a taste of what the wedding will be like. And that was definitely the case for Millie and Austin’s Prospect House wedding.
I connected with Millie and Austin through their planner, Emily Leach of Bird Dog Wedding. She knew their colorful, eclectic and artistic style would pair perfectly with our modern, artistic sense of design. The result was something truly creative and utterly vibrant.
Millie and Austin wanted their Prospect House wedding to be just as fun and colorful as they are. From the birds of paradise theme to the modern art flair, the entire design was somehow both eclectic and cohesive. We loved being a part of their special day!
Bold Choices And Bright Colors
When Millie and Austin let us know their overall design plans, we were really excited to get started. The stationery, in particular, was inspired by colorful, abstract art that paired well with bold, modern fonts.

They also wanted bold signage that matched the design of the invitations, so we created a clear acrylic welcome sign with a colorful abstract painting on the back. This ended up becoming a dramatic entry focal point for the day.

I hand-painted areas of bright color right on the back surface of the clear acrylic. I had never created anything quite like this before, and it was such a fun experiment – I LOVE how this one turned out!
The sign tied in perfectly with the rest of their smaller signage and with the colorful invitations.
A Beautiful Prospect House Wedding
Prospect House is a beautiful, modern Hill Country venue, and one of the best wedding venues in Austin. It was the perfect spot, especially since the greenery was in full bloom. Mountain Laurel Florals created some stunning floral arrangements, which only complimented the bright colors of the day.
Millie and Austin were downright gorgeous in their wedding attire, with Millie wearing a flowy, cream wedding dress and Austin sporting a dapper navy suit. The wedding party wore various bright shades, departing from tradition in a really fun way. Even the guests wore colorful cocktail attire!
Gloria Goode did an incredible job capturing the day, from the little details to the big moments. It was really fun to see everyone having a blast dancing at the reception. There were even some fun, kitschy playful photo props for guests to use in photos.
Final Thoughts
All in all, this was an incredibly fun wedding that was such a clear reflection of Millie and Austin as a couple and as individuals. They are both spirited individuals, so it’s no surprise they surround themselves with some of the brightest people around.
We had a wonderful time designing invitations, signage, save the date and more for Millie and Austin’s Prospect House wedding. If you’re interested in getting colorful wedding invitations for your upcoming wedding, we’d love to connect with you!
